TomTom in N95 8Gb

Hi, I've heard that Tomtom doesn't work in N95 8Gb because of the receiver, but I've also heard that there're a way to make it work. Do you know something about that?
Sorry if the topic is repeated but I've not found it, and also sorry for my english
Thanks

Last time I checked there was no way to make the N95 work with the Tom Tom. The alternative is the Garmin MobileXT which is guaranteed to work with the N95 integrated GPS. Availability is for Europe and North America.

emyi 2008-5-4 22:07

THANKS joekdo!
do you think that Garmin MobileXT is the best one?

No - in my opinion TomTom remains the best but you would need a seperate Bluetooth receiver. However if you insist on using the inbuilt receiver then Garmin XT is way better than Route 66.

Garmin Mobile vs Tom Tom

I have both softwares loaded in my N95 8Gb. Apparently, there is a way to use the built-in GPS receiver when using TomTom. There is an answer in one spanish forum (I will copy here the post). However, comparing both softwares, I prefer TomTom because of the interface (more friendly in my oppinion).
On the other hand, I think Garmin has more maps covered all around the world.

emyi 2008-5-5 18:17

Hi ecicay4, i'm spanish, so I'll be glad if you could tell me the forum where the answer is.
Thank you very much :):)

As far as I'm aware there is no patch to make Tom Tom work with the inbuilt receiver.  I use a Holox receiver with mine.  I still believe that Tom Tom is the best.
